October 2019 Birthday Bash

Aloha classmates of KHS 1977!

So excited to have received a few inquiries to be “kept in the loop” for our October 2019, Birthday Bash celebration. Currently, we have a handful of committee members that are researching the best venue, with the best costs as possible.  We need your input and validation if possible. The research is ongoing at this writing, so your thumbs up/down will help – mahalo!

  • Deck   – Queen Kapiolani Hotel/Kapahulu ave – renovated, beautiful view overlooking Diamond Head, our “backyard” if I may
  • Pearl County Club –   banquet facilities – best meal package for cost, but rental of rooms, pushes costs up
  • Elks Club – banquet facilities with overlooking lanai, Sans Souci/Kaimana beach – beautiful too, verifying sponsor

Estimation of costs for dinner, buffet runs from $41 – 61.00 per person; no host cocktails

Our goal is to allow us to have a sweet celebration in enjoying our/your company for a nice evening with dinner, reminiscing and maybe a game or two. If you know of any classmates that need to update their mailing information, please have them submit to this website. Banners will be up to remind them to spread the word. Please do the same. We’ll take care of the rest.

OMG – 60! Can you imagine, cause I can’t.

Take care,

And be sure to come out to the Kaimuki High Foundation dinner – Annual Fundraiser – “Keeping the Bulldog spirit Alive” – March 20th, Saturday, 4:30-8:30 p.m. Come on, get involved and enjoy a “mini-reunion” as well. See you there!

  1. Hi Pamela,

How all is well with you and the 77 gang. Permit me to reintroduce myself. I am Ermie Barroga. I too graduated from Kaimuki High School. I grew up in Kapahulu and currently reside in Pearl City. Among the notables from Kapahulu are Grant Okimura, Kirby Chun, Kurt Kawaguchi, Kevin Loui and the notorious Dexter Lum, Chi man Ho and the every popular Nancy Lee.
I ran into Grant the other day and he had mentioned a possible reunion this October. I would like to be added into the loop.
Time has flown by and I am interested to see how the Class of 1977 progressed.

    Sincerely,

    Ermie Barroga

PS If you don’t remember me, maybe you’ll remember my sister, Noreen Barroga Nascimento (Kaimuki ’78) And Halbert (’77)

  2. Howzit Ernie! Yes I do remember you and your sister and Halbert.and I went to Liholiho. Great support is flowing in so I had the pleasure of speaking to Grant last night. He proposed st Louis clubhouse, 10/5…so we moving forward for sure. I’m excited. Will you be there at ‘Y’s’. Bar on 4/27? I think definite planning will be done there. We have a small cash account, so hopefully will help some. I will propose a planning agenda and committee forming. Small kine work, but fun work..
Let’s get’r.done….aloha for now, take care.
